Nijoor ("we", "us", "our") operates the Nijoor mobile app and the website nijoor.com (together, the "Platform"). Nijoor helps people discover products available at local shops near them, and helps shop owners list their products online.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using Nijoor, you agree to this policy.

1. Who this policy is for

Nijoor has two types of users:

• Buyers — people who search for and discover products.
• Shop owners (sellers) — people who list their shop and products.

We collect different information depending on which you are.

2. Information we collect

From everyone

• Mobile number — used to sign in securely with a one-time password (OTP).
• Location — with your permission, your approximate location is used to show shops and products near you. You can turn this off in your device settings; the app then shows results without distance sorting.
• Device and usage information — basic technical data such as app version, device type, and how you use the app, to keep the service working and improve it.

From buyers

• Name (if you provide it) — shown on your profile.
• Your activity — products you save as favourites, shops you follow, products you recently viewed, and reviews you write.

From shop owners

• Shop details — shop name, category, description, address, and shop location, shown publicly so customers can find you.
• Contact numbers — your business phone and WhatsApp number, shown publicly so buyers can contact you.
• Products — product names, descriptions, prices, photos, and stock, which you choose to publish publicly.
• Identity documents (if/when requested for verification) — kept strictly private and never shown to other users.

3. What is public and what is private

Public (visible to other users, on the app, website, and in Google search results):

• Shop name, category, description, address, and location
• Business contact numbers (call / WhatsApp)
• Products: names, descriptions, prices, and photos
• Reviews and ratings (shown with a partly-hidden name, e.g. "User ••• 3210")

Private (never shown to other users):

• Your personal phone number used for login
• Your email address
• Owner's personal name
• Identity / verification documents

4. How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Sign you in securely and keep your account safe
• Show you shops and products near your location
• Let shop owners publish products and be discovered by nearby customers
• Display products in Google search results and Google Shopping (for shop owners who choose to participate)
• Send you notifications you have enabled (e.g. updates from shops you follow)
• Maintain, protect, and improve the Platform

We do not sell your personal data to anyone.

5. Services we use

Nijoor is built on trusted service providers who process data on our behalf:

• Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore database, Storage, Cloud Functions, Hosting) — to run the app, store data, and host the website.
• Google Maps — to show shop locations.
• Google AI (Gemini) — to help shop owners create product listings from photos and translate listings.
• Google Merchant Center & Search — to show shop products in Google search and Shopping (for participating shops).

These providers have their own privacy policies and security practices.

6. How we share information

We share information only:

• Publicly, as described in Section 3 (shop and product details that owners choose to publish)
• With service providers listed in Section 5, who process data only to run our service
• When required by law, such as a valid legal request from authorities
• To protect the rights, safety, and property of Nijoor and our users

We never sell your personal information.

7. Data retention

• We keep your account information for as long as your account is active.
• Shop owners can archive (hide) or delete their products at any time. Deleted products and their photos are permanently removed.
• If you want your account and personal data deleted, contact us (Section 11) and we will remove it, except where we are required by law to keep certain records.

8. Your rights

You can:

• Access and update your information in the app (profile, shop details, products)
• Control location access through your device settings
• Turn off notifications in your profile settings
• Request deletion of your account and personal data by contacting us

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including secure authentication, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and database security rules that restrict access. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children

Nijoor is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top. Significant changes will be communicated through the Platform.
